Rehearsal with the OJQ in the morning, then a lesson.  Theme of the day was consistency of sound, harmonic clarity, and pulse.  Closed the night with a performance at the Detroit Institute of the Arts by Vicky Chow and New Music Detroit.  Best piece of the night was Nico Muhly‘s 2005 work Pillaging Music for piano, percussion, and tape.  Also enjoyed Virgil Moorefield’s No Business As Usual.  Nice performance!
